J. Z.

Yesterday, I up and decided to leave NYC for the night to go visit a friend in a nearby city. He had one more day before he left to go home, so I was excited to get out and have dinner and drinks with him, especially since it had been over a year since we last saw each other. I missed him so much, and every time we get together, it seems like no time at all had passed. I love friendships like that! :o) We had a phenomenal time, and I had THE best Mexican cuisine I've had....probably ever!

Before leaving New York, I took the J train into Chinatown. As I walked out of the subway station, I noticed the sign that states which trains run at that particular underground stop, and immediately, a lightbulb went off. The New York Post had a brief article not too long ago that Jay-Z's name, partly derived from his idol, 80's hip hop icon Jaz-O, also comes from his life as a Brooklyn resident. It stated that growing up, Jay-Z took both the J train and the Z train to and from the Bedford-Stuysevant Marcy Projects. Although there are other stations that run both of these trains, I thought it was pretty cool that I was using the stop that ran only the Jay-Z train! Haha! I love him. <3
